A timely look at the work of Chicago’s preeminent architect as we approach the centennial of the 1909 City Plan. Burnham was the individual responsible for creating the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago and for developing systematic, future-facing planning to the City with his 1909 Plan (in conjunction with Edward Bennett and the Commercial Club).
