Low-key Genius:
Master Landscape-Gardener O.C. Simonds

An internationally recognized designer, O.C.Simonds spent his entire fifty-three career here in Chicago. A master of naturalistic plantings and spatial configuration, Simonds was responsible for hundreds of important gardens and landscapes, including Lake Forest College campus, Graceland Cemetery, Melody Farm, and dozens of North Shore residential plans.

This course provides an overview of Simonds’s career, his design company and influential clients, and finishes with analysis and discussion of his design style with application to today’s gardens. Four weekly sessions with dates to be determined.
